Chögyal Namkhai Norbu on the Meaning of Contemporary Tibetan Song and Dance

Fantastic video of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, discussing the importance of contemporary Tibetan song and dance. At a time when young Tibetans are in despair and international news focuses on the travesty of self-immollations or protest, Rinpoche is stressing the positive aspects of Tibetan culture in the face of adversity. Tibetan singers have achieved through the medium of You Tube and other media, a world audience who hear another side of Tibetan culture--as they celebrate what it means to be Tibetan. By introducing the dances and songs of Tibet we are not only connecting with them but expressing deep appreciation for the meaning they are communicating. In addition, here in this video, Rinpoche talks about the coordination of movement as a practice where it is important to be present. Best of all just look at the happy faces of the dancers. Thank you, Rinpoche, for such a brilliant method. In order to facilitate the learning of the songs, Rinpoche has transliterated 108 songs that  has personally selected.
