Sunny Monday up on Khandroling: A Photo Essay by Olympia Shannon

Those gifted Shannon kids  are out in full force these days with their parents John and Miranda. This past Monday, Olympia took many photos of the Mandala Hall on Khandroling. Olympia’s passion is photography. Here are a few photos:

Olympia like her sister Uma is working hard to arrange funding to participate in furthering their artistic studies for the summer.  The following is a summary of their activities and financial needs.

Olympia is a professional photographer and exhibiting artist. She was home schooled through high school and graduated from Bennington college in June 2013. This summer she was awarded an Artist Residency and a merit fellowship to CAC Woodside in Troy NY (Contemporary Artists Center at Woodside.) To help cover residency fees and material costs, Olympia created a Kickstarter campaign https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/olympiashannon/artist-residency-at-cac-woodside, complete with project description and pledge rewards. To see Olympia's work please visit her websitehttp://olympia-shannon.squarespace.com/. Olympia's Kickstarter campaign ends on Tuesday, June 24.

Uma is a dancer and a life long home schooler. This summer she was accepted at and given a merit scholarship to "From Studio to Stage" the summer ballet intensive at the Hartt School of Music, Theater and Dance, in Hartford CT. To help cover the remaining tuition and room and board costs, Uma created an Indiegogo campaign https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/help-uma-dance-2014/x/3140273#home, replete with a biography and video on the story page, more videos and pictures in the update and gallery sections, and thank you perks. Uma also has a Facebook page where she posts regular updates https://www.facebook.com/HelpUmaDance?ref=bookmarks. Uma's Indiegogo campaign ends on Wednesday, June  18.
